“Beyond Belief” is a documentary which follows the story of two women, Susan Retik and Patti Quigley, whose lives were forever changed by the events of 9/11 when they lost their husbands in the attacks. However, rather than turning inwards, the women travel to Afghanistan, where many of the terrorists were trained, and dedicate themselves to empowering Afghan widows, whose lives have been ravaged by decades of war, poverty and oppression. Along the way, “they discover a powerful bond with each other, an unlikely kinship with widows halfway around the world, and a profound way to move beyond tragedy.”

Beyond Belief, trailer below, will be premiering on April 26 at the Tribeca Film Festival, with further screenings in the weeks ahead.
